Help to Organize and Assist Others

On September 8 and 9, 2021, VTVCare met with the families, survivors (one permanently paralyzed, represented by his brother), and many traumatized due to the mass shooting at the Virginia Beach Municipal Building #2 on May 31, 2019. For many, it was the first time coming together in one place since the shooting. It was also the first time they have been afforded the time to speak publicly and submit their testimony to the Virginia OIG Commission, legislated and formed by the Virginia General Assembly to investigate the shooting.

Best practices have been lacking for the 12 families, four wounded, their current/former colleagues, and the community, who have been re-traumatized over the last 28 months. Local and state authorities do not seem to care.

It is an honor for VTVCare to begin to help organize and assist our brave brothers and sisters on their long journey of recovery, healing, and the need for perpetual care that will be required. Meeting, sharing stories, talking, and embracing one another is the first step in seeking and creating purpose and change. We will add more to this story as progress is made through VTVCare's advocacy in support of the Virginia Beach victims.

We shall not forget them. Will you? Please assist VTVCare by submitting a tax-free donation.
